Taipans, Tegus, and Terrapins

Brest van Kempen, Carel P. 2159 Lake Street Salt Lake City, UT 84106 USA

Because of their diversity of form and behavior, snakes and other reptiles and amphibians make ideal subjects for telling visual stories about ecology. I have always seen it as my artistic mission to deepen awareness of the natural world and how it functions, so it is only natural that reptiles and amphibians should feature prominently in my work. Focusing on various aspects of herpetofaunal behavior can say a great deal about the general principles that affect the relationships and evolution of all taxa, and hopefully can provide educational value for the public at large at a time when communal decisions are being made that will permanently affect our own relationship with the natural world.
